Seeing Red
It maybe an exaggeration but each square and city landmark appears to be touched by a patch of red, which I’ve come to see as London’s unofficial trademark. Red is picked out on all manner of London imagery there’s a famous postcard shot of a double decker bus whizzing past the Elizabeth Tower (aka Big Ben) and of course the Guards uniforms are also red too. Given the rise of mobile phones and the decline of snail mail the familiar telephone and post boxes that populate our cities may become a rare sight. But for the moment British Pillar Box Red can be found in a surprising variety of central London locations.
